Paul Pierce has revealed just how many steps it took him to walk 20 miles to work after he lost a playoff bet.

On Thursday night (May 8), the 2008 NBA champion posted a screenshot on X of an app highlighting how many steps he took on his nearly 8-hour trek. Pierce took a total of 33,465 steps in his 20-mile journey to his sportscaster job at Fox Sports, located in the Century City area of Los Angeles, California.

In addition to that post, Pierce shared the next morning that his feet were in massive pain from all the walking he did, which started early Thursday morning. "Damn my feet huuuuuurt," he wrote on X.

At the very end of his walk, Pierce shared a video where he expressed his disbelief in actually completing the difficult task.

"I can't believe I made it. We made it, dog," Pierce said in a video shared by the Awful Announcing X account. "I'm never doing this again. I'm never making a bet like this again."

When a bystander asked Pierce how he felt in the video, he replied: "I feel like I accomplished something great, dog [...] That was an accomplishment at the end of the day. Not everybody has a mental capacity to do it. I got up at 5 a.m. […] I hope this can inspire my Celtics that we can get back in this series and pull this series out."

Pierce even arrived on set in a wheelchair to join his fellow TV show hosts Joy Taylor and Keyshawn Johnson, while crew members and fans waved green pom-poms in honor of him completing his part of the bet.

The bet was laid down before Game 2 of the Boston Celtics-New York Knicks playoff series. On Wednesday (May 7), Pierce said he was very confident that the Celtics would beat the Knicks after suffering a loss in the first game of the Eastern Conference semifinals match-up.

"If the Celtics lose Game 2 at home, I promise you, I'm walking here tomorrow," he said on Fox Sports 1. "I'm walking here. I'm walking here. 15 miles. I'm walking here. In my robe. No shoes on. Barefeet. If the Celtics lose."
