Terrell Owens Tells Brett Favre to Clear Up Welfare Fund Scandal

Terrell Owens had a pressing question for Brett Favre surrounding the welfare scandal he was allegedly involved in.

On Tuesday, Owens called out Favre after the latter tried to clear up a video of him in a tense situation with All-Pro pass rusher Mark Gastineau. In that clip, Gastineau confronts Favre about him sliding into Michael Strahan during a game in 2001, which Strahan gave him the single-season sack record that Gastineu held since 1984.

Favre addressed the video by explaining that he wasn't "trying to hurt Mark Gastineau" by diving into Strahan. He explained that it wasn't his intention to ruin Gastineau's record, and even though some fans praised him for how he handled the situation, not everyone was trying to let him go freely.

Owens took things to another level and asked if Favre would explain his role in the Mississippi welfare scandal, where he allegedly pocketed $1 million from misappropriated funds that were meant for in-need residents in the state.

"While you're clearing the air, clear the air on the misappropriation of funds you were pocketing," Owens tweeted.

The NFL Hall of Famer allegedly received money for speaking appearances he never made, and there's also evidence of a text exchange between himself and former Mississippi governor Phil Bryant discussing plans to use $5 million of those funds to build a volleyball facility at Southern Miss, Favre's alma mater.

Favre hasn't been charged or convicted of any crimes relating to the welfare scandal. During a congressional hearing regarding the scandal, Favre revealed he has Parkinson's Disease.

"I'm sure you'll understand, while it's too late for me because I've recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's, this is also a cause dear to my heart," he said during the hearing.
