Armored Truck

Rockers My Chemical Romance arrived at the 2005 VMAs putting safety first as they rolled up to the red carpet in a Brinks armored truck. While not the smoothest whip, it's got to be a much more cost effective means of protection than 50 Cent's bulletproof Chevy Suburban.

Horse & Carriage

Although she was the victim of a much more memorable moment later that night, Taylor Swift definitely drew eyes when she arrived at the 2009 VMAs in a fairytail-esque fashion via horse & carriage. No one stopped the singing sensations ride to declare that Fall Out Boy had a better horse & carriage the previous year.

Yacht

With MTV's 2004 shindig taking place seaside in Miami, two superstars took advantage of the chance to travel by watercraft. While the appearance of Usher's yacht seemed to be a triumphant moment amonst those arriving at the awards show, Diddy had to stunt on the R&B artist and come through with a bigger yacht worth 17 times as much.

Biker Entourage

In a reenactment of a scene from the band's "Kings and Queens" music video, 30 Seconds To Mars paraded onto last year's venue with an entourage of bicycles of different shapes, sizes and colors. Not the most luxurious way to travel, but they definitely helped kicked off the evening's fun with their unexpected mode of transportation.

Monster Truck

Winner's of the night's 2008 award for Best New Artist, Tokio Hotel also won big earlier that night when they showed up in this detailed monster truck. The Pussycat Dolls even looked like they may have wanted a lift when they cozied up to the band during the pre-show festivities.

Fire Truck

Pink is known as one of pop's tougher chicks but when she showed up in a big red fire truck to the 2009 VMAs even she needed a few good volunteers to help her down the NYFD company ladder. A few guys nearby were eager to offer the singer in her tight dress and heels some emergency service.

DeLorean

Last year's VMAs included a blast from the past courtesy of pop singer Ke$ha who brought out the "Back To The Future" DeLorean to take her to the awards. The party music postergirl's wheels showed that if you want to be an icon you need to roll in an iconic whip.

Vintage Cadillac

As just another example of Justin Bieber's star power, the teenage heart throb arrived at the Nokia Theater in L.A. for last year's VMAs and was instantly mobbed by hundreds of screaming girls as he made his way to the stage. Breaking out some smooth dance moves and closing with a rare drum set, "The Biebs" proved that the only thing smoother than his vintage red cadillac was his stage presence.

Presidential Motorcade

At the last VMAs held during an election year, rapper Young Jeezy was pushing the "Vote Or Die" motto to the max and rolled up to the awards with his own Commander In Chief modeled motorcade. The barrage of vehicles which included a convertible and a ton of bikers was topped by the fact that the artist behind the "My President Is Black anthem was being driven by a chauffeur who was rocking a John McCaine mask. The blunt image of Jeezy's political allegiance was one that we won't soon forget.

Elephant

T-Pain pulled out all the stops for MTV's 2008 show including perhaps one at the circus. The rappa ternt sanga rode a majestic elephant to the VMAs in regal style. Teddy P's theme for the night was unmistakably tied to his third studio album Three Ringz.
