Mike Tyson’s Next Fight? Against Dry Skin (and Maybe His Accountant)
The boxing legend gets real about self-care, mental health, and why even the toughest guys need a good moisturizer. Plus, the one celebrity he’d step in the ring with—for the right price.
Mike Tyson has built a career on being unpredictable. From his reign as the youngest heavyweight champion in history to his evolution as a cultural icon, Iron Mike has always done things his way. Now, he’s bringing that same energy to the self-care game, partnering with Dr. Squatch to prove that even the toughest men on the planet need to moisturize.
In our conversation, Tyson keeps it real about his love for looking good, the importance of self-care, and why he thinks a man should “look better than his wife” when stepping out. He also drops gems on mental health, shares his thoughts on the state of boxing, and even names the one celebrity he’d step in the ring with…for the right price.
Check out the full conversation below, where Tyson talks about everything from shower routines to why he’s only fighting accountants these days.

What does this partnership mean to you?
Many fragrance and deodorant companies wanted to be partners with me, and my wife and I chose Dr. Squatch because we love the fact that it moisturizes our skin. And I'm very big on cleanliness; I think a man should look better than his wife when they're going out. I'm just one of those people: I like dressing up, I like looking nice, and I like feeling nice. So Dr. Squatch puts me in a position where I have no worries about my dry skin, and everything is smooth as a baby booty.
And what does self-care mean to you? How important is it for athletes to also prioritize their self-care?
Well, we're all different people and I can tell you: I love taking care of myself. I love dressing. I love looking blended with my wife going out. I love looking better than my wife when I go out. I love getting compliments about my clothes, my skin, my hat, my bag, everything. I enjoy that and that's just who I am. I am at my best when I look my best and feel my best.
Have you always had a very particular skincare routine or self-care routine when it came to boxing and fighting?
I am constantly training, working out, and then during that process, I'm always in the sun and it dries my skin up. So I need some kind of formula–matter of fact, something like Dr. Squatch–because I get really bad dry skin. Most of the time I have to run, and when I'm running, I come back home, and I may take a shower, but I don't have time to put lotion or anything on me. And then that whole day is just murderous. It feels like sandpaper on my legs.
What is your biggest self-care tip?
I don't know. You should shower for at least 20 minutes. I think you have to shower because sometimes you think you clean, you wiping yourself, then you wipe yourself again with a dry towel. You see dirt or something. What the fuck? I just wash myself and I'm still not clean. So I think 20 minutes in the shower with extreme washing and scrubbing. Scrubbing is good.
Have you always known throughout your career that you wanted to do something with skincare?
Well, in all due respect, I don't know about that–but I know I always wanted to look beautiful and feel beautiful.
Scale of one to 10, how beautiful do you feel when you use the products?
Six. The number is unfathomable. Oh God–I'm at my best yet.
Speaking of feeling good, I think the interior is just as important as exterior. So, about your mental health: Do you have any advice for anybody going through a hard time?
Hey, listen, we're all battling mental health. There's no one on this planet who don't have their degree of mental deficiency. So we're all struggling out here. There's some struggling worse than others, but struggling what life is about. Without struggle, there's no progress. We must struggle to bring out the best of us.
Switching gears a little bit, what are your thoughts on content creators who want to go into the boxing lane? What would be your best advice for them?
Hey, listen, it depends on what you want: To participate and be an actual fighter, or do you want to be in the business of fighting? Which one is it?
Do you see a really big difference between fighters from your generation and fighters now?
Inactivity. They don't fight enough. I fought 15 times in one year.
Is there any fighter that you look at right now that you're just like, wow, I really love everything they bring to the game?
I like Crawford. I like Tank, I like bit of Viez. Those are my three hot shots right now.
Lamont recently came in and we did a cool few segments with him. He went into the fight very confident and it ended up being a draw. Do you have any hot takes on his fight vs Tank?
The draw was good. I thought he was ahead a little bit, but the champion needs to be pretty much dismantled to really beat them. But that's not how they worked out in the olden days. To beat the champion, you had to at least knock him down or dominate him, and he didn't dominate at times. He was just ahead of him in points. I don't think he dominated him. Matter of fact, I think it was a great fight, too. We can't take that out: It was a great fight. I don't watch boxing much, but the fights like that, they're very formidable, so I watched those guys.
Yeah, I thought it was a really cool fight to watch, it was a good fight in my opinion as well. Is there a celebrity fight that you would participate in, or anything else fun?
I don't look at boxing as fun because practicing or fighting, any moment you can die. So I don't think of it as fun, and I'm just very peculiar when it comes to fighting what I do. I'm not really interested in doing that anymore. All my fighting is pretty much over. Only person I'm fighting is my accountant now.
Do you have any hot takes on celebrity fights? I know that some people are like, oh, I would never do that. Lamont Roach said if it was the right price, he would step in the ring and do it, but if not, it's just something he’s not interested in. Do you have any opinions on that?
Yeah, if you have the right price, I'll fight a lion.
Okay. If you were given the right price, who do you think would be a hilarious celebrity matchup that you just think would really bring the people together?
Kat Williams.
That would be hilarious. I think that it's really interesting to just see people's legacy come together and how it just brings everybody out, old and new fans. What can we expect when it comes to your future endeavors? You have such an amazing legacy. Everyone is really interested in what you're going to do in the future.
Yeah, what I'm going to do is what makes me happy, whatever that may be at that particular time. And that's just all I care about. I don't even think about my whole journey, my whole life.
