King's Court: LeBron's Greatest Moments in Cleveland
New York, Chicago, Miami? No one (except maybe Jigga) knows where LeBron James will end up this summer, but it seems inevitable that Bron Bron will be leaving his home state. But while LeBron will be departing Cleveland on a sour note, let's not forget all the good times he brought the city. Really, no one's done this much for Cleveland since Bone. His seven years as a Cav include back-to-back MVPs, a Finals appearance, more facials than Sasha Grey, and a handful of buzzer-beaters. So, in light of what may have been his last game for his hometown team, here are LeBron's 10 greatest moments in Cleveland...
Poster Dunk on Damon Jones
When: 2/3/2005
Moment: King James has one of the most memorable posterizations of his (or anybody's) career as he ethers Damon Jones.
Complex says: For someone who claims to be one of the most stylish players in the NBA, Damon sure got styled on right here. Ugh!
Tells Mom to "Sit yo ass down!"
When: 5/12/2008
Moment: LeBron's mom barks at Paul Pierce after his hard foul on Bron Bron.
Complex says: That's right: Mama don't take no mess.
2003 NBA Draft
When: 6/26/2003
Moment: LeBron beat out other future All-Stars such as Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade to become the first overall pick in the draft.
Complex Says: LeBron going first overall wasn't a surprise, but Darko Milicic being selected before Melo and D-Wade? FOH.
Nike's "The LeBrons" Ad campaign
When: 2006
Moment: In an ad for the Air Zoom LeBron IVs, Nike used "the LeBrons," each of which represents an aspect of his personality.
Complex says: Not a bad acting job by LeBron but
NBA Debut
When: 10/29/2003
Moment: LeBron dropped 25 points and shot 60 percent from the floor in his first professional game.
Complex Says: Despite a dope debut from LeBron the Cavs still lost that game. Not surprising, considering the Cavs skill level was damn near equivalent to LeBron's St. Vincent-St. Mary's squad in Akron.
LeBron Hosts SNL
When: 9/29/2007
Moment: LeBron's hosting and Kanye's musical performance led to one of the best SNL shows in recent memory.
Complex says: Though funny, this wasn't even LeBron's best skit. NBC took down videos of the segment online, but here's a sweet taste.
Becomes Youngest All-Star MVP
When: 2/19/2006
Moment: Bron Bron led the East back from a 21-point deficit on his way to becoming the youngest All-Star game MVP at 21 years and 51 days.
Complex says: Only three years in the league and the King was already stuntin' on the vets. Peep the facial he put on Dirk at the 1:30 mark.
Wins Back-to-Back MVP Awards
When: 5/2/2010
Moment: LeBron became one of only 11 NBA players to win multiple MVP honors.
Complex says: Bron Bron really didn't need to bring out his second-tier teammates, we already knew how much his supporting cast sucked.
Game 5 2007 Eastern Conference Finals Take Over
When: 6/2/2007
Moment: Bron Bron went off, scoring a franchise-record 48 points--including the team's final 25--in a double-OT victory against the Pistons.
Complex says: Dude needed one of these against the Celts this season.
2009 Playoff Buzzer Beater vs. Magic
When: 5/22/2009
Moment: With one second left in Game 2 of the 2009 ECF, King James tied the series by draining this three over Hedo Turkoglu.
Complex Says: Guess Bron Bron does have a little Black Mamba inside of him. Pause.
