Paige Bueckers answered questions about her “D1 girlfriend” at a 2025 WNBA All-Star event Thursday night (July 17), eventually resulting in a direct confirmation of her relationship with former UConn Huskies teammate Azzi Fudd.

In a red carpet interview with the @iso.maddy-hosted WAG Talk, Bueckers, who currently plays for the Dallas Wings, was asked a series of questions about her not-initially-named “D1 girlfriend,” starting with some simple stats and facts.

From there, the star point guard, a.k.a. Paige Buckets, started to get a bit more specific with a nod to a certain catchphrase that is now the title of a soon-to-launch podcast (“Fudd around a find out”) and a mention of Azzi’s recently revealed custom phone case emblazoned with “Paige Bueckers’ girlfriend.”

With the interview-closing “girlfriend reveal,” Bueckers confirmed her and Fudd’s status.

“Azzi Fudd,” she said when asked to give the name.

Of course, the two have been linked in various reports and social media chatter for some time now. In a recent conversation with Quinn Diaz for Complex, Bueckers looked back on her and Azzi’s UConn time together, pointing to “the power of friendship” as key to the team’s success.

“I know me and Azzi didn't have the most unchallenging path,” Bueckers, previously highlighted as one of 10 “prospects to watch” back in March, said. “We had injuries, we had ups and downs, highs and lows, but it all made it rewarding in the end. And I just feel like on the other side of a hard time is a huge blessing. And so, to continue for us to stick with it and stay together through it all, I think I want that to be the story.”
