San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich reportedly suffered from a medical emergency at a restaurant recently.

TMZ reports that the coach had to leave a San Antonio steakhouse in an ambulance earlier this week after officials claimed to have received a call about an older person who “fainted” while eating dinner. He’d allegedly been there for two hours before the emergency happened.

Although he was alert and talking by the time he entered the ambulance, Popovich was allegedly taken to a nearby hospital without any major injuries or illnesses. Now, he’s apparently back home and is fine.

This recent health scare for Popovich comes less than two months after he revealed to his team that he wouldn’t be returning to coach this season following his stroke in November.

Back then, Popovich suffered a stroke just before the beginning of a Spurs match against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In December, Popovich released a statement to the public about his health. “This has certainly been an unexpected six weeks for my family and me,” Popovich said on X. “As we work together on my recovery, I want to take a moment to share that the outpouring of support we’ve received during this time has been truly overwhelming in the best possible way.”

“While I wish I could get back to each one of you, for now, let me say that my family and I are forever grateful,” he added. “We’re thankful for our wonderful community, the entire Spurs organization, and our family and friends.”

Popovich is a legendary NBA coach currently in his 29th season of coaching. He’s led the Spurs to five NBA championships and is considered to be one of the most beloved coaches in the league.
