Shaquille O'Neal Drops F-Bomb Mid-Broadcast
He made a joke about 'Inside the NBA' switching networks.
Shaquille O'Neal dropped an F-bomb on live TV in a hilarious Inside the NBA segment.
Shaq, joined by Ernie Johnson, Kenny “The Jet” Smith, and Charles Barkley, had an uncensored moment while breaking down gameplay from a Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Oklahoma City Thunder NBA game.
One moment prompted the legendary sports broadcasting quartet to do their “race to the board” where they typically review in-game footage.
Since they were broadcasting from an outdoor setup at Pier 48 in San Francisco ahead of NBA All-Star Weekend, the board wasn’t as close to the guys as it is when they’re in the studio.
When Shaq returned to his seat, he got very real about how he was feeling. “In the words of Marshawn Lynch, ‘I’m tired as shit, America,” he joked.
The rest of the guys started laughing at Shaq’s audacity, but instead of apologizing for the slip, Shaq doubled down on it. “We getting fired anyway, Ernie,” he yelled. “Fuck it!”
Shaq’s joke might be null and void now that he’s signed a new long-term contract to remain at TNT Sports.
There had previously been talks about whether Shaq and his fellow hosts would be a part of Inside the NBA because of its move to ESPN due to TNT not having the media rights to broadcast the NBA.
Shaq’s new contract will pay him $15 million per year, and TNT will license the program to ESPN (and ABC) next season. Now, the guys will stay together, making anyone worried about Shaq’s joke yesterday feel pretty comfortable.
