Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco React to Rumors of Steve Smith Sr. Sleeping With Married Woman

Shannon Sharpe and Chad Ochocinco have some thoughts on the allegations that Steve Smith Sr. was sleeping with another man's wife.

On a recent edition of Nightcap, which can be seen above, Sharpe and Ocho spoke at length about the allegations by recapping a Facebook post that appears to be from the wife, before playing a clip in which the husband seemingly confronted him over the phone. When the man believed to be Smith said "I'm sorry" when asked what he had to say for himself, Ocho erupted into laughter and Sharpe let out a little chuckle.

"Well listen, he said he's sorry!" said Ocho. "This is what you don't do as a man... You never confront the individual because Steve Smith owes you no loyalty." Sharpe said, "Steve Smith ain't married to you, bro." Ocho suggested the man should confront his wife instead of Smith. "Understand who you're marrying," he added. "When certain opportunities present themselves, they going to go... I don't care how much love there is, how much money you got... Understand who you're dealing with and move accordingly."

Sharpe said that he thinks the man was trying to take down Smith's marriage at the same time. "I love [Smith]... But, bro, you need to take that up with your wife," he said. "She has the loyalty clause, she's the one who has an obligation to you." While they both don't approve of the affair—Ocho said it's "not even worth it"—they also don't think it needed to be aired out publicly like this. "Releasing texts, man, that's lame, man," said Sharpe, who said that he was confronted by multiple men in the past for sleeping with women he didn't know were in relationships.

The allegations about Smith and the woman's infidelity recently surfaced after X user “Tony Martinez” tweeted, “My wife works for the Marching Ravens. She met Steve Smith Sr. at work. Steve has been fucking my wife. I got receipts. I got a lot more homie.”

The user also shared a screenshot of a sexual conversation seemingly between Smith and his wife. But if what’s written in the thread is any indicator, there’s no chance it could be anything but an affair.

The same user also shared a video of him calling (presumably) Smith Sr. and confronting him about the situation. When presented with the evidence, the voice on the other end simply apologizes without any emotion in their voice.

After another person asked for more proof of the accuser’s story, he shared a since-deleted screenshot of another conversation that his wife and Smith Sr. were allegedly having. A picture shared in the text thread shows the bottom half of a man’s face that looks very close to Smith Sr.

If that wasn’t enough of a smoking gun, the accuser shared a picture of a man who looks like Smith Sr. presumably with no clothes on. He tagged the former football player, saying, “Sorry ain’t gonna cut it. You should’ve played the game better. Ice up son.”

As for what the accuser plans on doing after these accusations, he’s announced that he’s leaving his wife. “For those saying divorce her. Yeah, No shit. For those saying looks worse on me. I ain’t got nothing to lose,” he wrote.

Ocho and Sharpe weren't the only celebrities to react to the allegations. Gilbert Arenas, Nick Young and Brandon Jennings also reacted to the news during a stream. They especially found the "I'm sorry" video hilarious.

Smith has yet to address the allegations.
