Ralph Lauren’s Iconic Bear Mascot Goes After Art Thief in New Animated Short
The iconic Polo Bear is finally getting the animated adventure it deserves.
Ralph Lauren's iconic Polo Bear is getting its own animated short.
The fashion and lifestyle brand just unleashed the first trailer for The Polo Bear Chronicles: Operation Black Tie, and it sees the bear setting out to solve the case of theft. It promises to deliver adventure, action, espionage, and introduces a pigeon as the bear's sidekick.
“In a quiet Manhattan townhouse, where the jazz is smooth, the tailoring sharper than a switchblade, lives one gentle bear,” says the voice-over in the first trailer, which can be seen above. “With a taste for the finer things, with his unlikely sidekick, a streetwise pigeon, they’re about to pull off the most refined art recovery of the century. From brownstone to beach house, polo game to gala, they’ll outwit socialites and security alike, all without saying a word.”
The Polo Bear has been a widely-recognised and beloved symbol of the brand ever since the first line featuring the design was introduced in 1991, just one year after the bear was gifted to Ralph Lauren himself and his brother Jerry by their employees. The bear has featured across countless pieces from the brand throughout the years, from pieces such as sweaters and skateboard decks, to fishing gear and timepieces.
