Nas and OBJECTS ARE BY Launch New Collection f/ Hoodies and Ashtrays
At the core of the collection are photos of Nas circa 1993.
Rare photos of Nas captured by Danny Hastings are at the core of a new collection from OBJECTS ARE BY, select images from which are first debuting via Complex Shop ahead of a launch event at Gotham set for April 19.
In a statement, Hastings, whose catalog also includes work with Wu-Tang Clan and other titans of rap, looked back on the pre-Illmatic 1993 session he had with Nas. As Hasting pointed out, “it was just me and him” during the shoot.
“We took the train,” Hastings recalled. “No entourage, nobody. Just two kids. It’s that beautiful time that I captured that’s the unknown.”
A new homeware collection from OBJECTS ARE BY centers on this period, commemorating the permanently-etched-in-time moment with pieces ranging from heavyweight hoodies to collective ashtrays. Notably, the porcelain used in select pieces are made from the brand’s signature bone-free china.
Below, get a closer look at the collection and head this way to get your hands on pieces from the collection. See here for more from Complex Shop.
