It’s the first Monday in May and that can only mean one thing: the Met Gala is here.

The theme is “gilded glamour,” an homage to the Gilded Age in New York dating back from 1870 to 1880. According to Today, “gilded glamour” pairs up with the 2021 theme of “American Independence,” as part of what the Metropolitan Museum of Art describes as “a two-part exploration of fashion in the United States.”

Regina King, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Lin-Manuel Miranda were tapped as co-chairs for this year’s annual celebration of fashion, with Tom Ford and Anna Wintour among those serve as honorary co-chairs. Jack Harlow, Karlie Kloss, and Rosalía were all spotted wearing Givenchy.

As Cosmopolitan noted, 2022 marks the first-ever appearance of Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Khloé Kardashian, and Kourtney Kardashian all at the same Met Gala.
