JFK's Grandson Rips Into Trump Over Release of Assassination Files
He also called RFK Jr., Joe Rogan, and Andrew Schulz for "spreading disinformation."
The Trump administration released documents about the 1963 assassination of John F. Kennedy this week, and his grandson Jack Schlossberg said he wasn't given any warning despite Donald Trump claiming otherwise.
Across a series of posts shared on both X, formerly Twitter, and Instagram, Schlossberg tore into Trump's decision to release the documents, which scholars have suggested won't contain much if any new information, per The New York Times. "President Trump is obsessed with my grandfather—but not in his life or what he achieved in it," wrote Schlossberg. "Not, just like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Donald Trump is only interested in JFK's carcass."
Across further posts, he accused Trump and RFK, his cousin, of "Stealing history from present and future generations" by "appropriating the past for their criminal agenda." He admitted that there's not a lot he can do as a citizen, but he will continue to speak his mind.
He then compared the legacy of his grandfather to the chaos of Trump's second term so far. "JFK drafted the Civil Rights Act—Trump made DEI illegal," he continued. "JFK stared down Russia and did not blink—Trump is Russia's closest ally. JFK sent a man to the moon—Trump gave Elon the keys to Air Force One. JFK created USAID—Trump eliminated it."
He said that JFK fought against fascism and communism, while Trump is "selling us out to tech warlords, at home and abroad." Schlossberg also pointed out JFK's support for unions and labor, healthcare, and getting employees paid more. Meanwhile, Trump is "stripping working families from lifesaving care." He went on to accuse Trump of emptying out the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, which he recently appointed himself the chairman of.
In a final pair of posts, he called out Andrew Schulz, Joe Rogan, and his cousin RFK for "spreading disinformation." He recently challenged Rogan to have him on his show but suggested that the podcaster would be "too scared to talk to someone who doesn't agree with [him]," per Huffington Post. Rogan has repeatedly expressed excitement for the release of the JFK assassination documents.
Schlossberg also said that his family was not warned about the release of the documents. "The trump administration did not give anyone in President Kennedy's family 'a heads up' about the release," he wrote in all-caps. "A total surprise, and not shock!! But @RobertKennedyJr definitely knew."
