Florida Woman Posing as Nurse Allegedly Saw 4,000 Patients Without License
Autumn Bardisa allegedly accused another female nurse’s identity when applying for a job as an advanced nurse tech.
A Florida woman is facing charges for allegedly posing as a nurse and treating patients without a license.
People reports that Autumn Bardisa is accused of treating 4,486 patients following a seven-month long investigation by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.
The 29-year-old was arrested in her home on Tuesday (Aug. 5) after it was discovered that she was pretending to be “a licensed nurse and provided medical care to thousands of unsuspecting patients," according to police.
Bardisa allegedly provided medical services from June 2024 to January 2025 while pretending to hold a valid license. She worked at AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway in Palm Coast from July 3, 2023, until Jan. 22, 2025.
According to authorities, she used another person's nursing license number and false documents to obtain the position.
When applying for the position, she allegedly told the hospital that she had passed the exam but had recently gotten married, which is why her license matched her first name but not her last. When she was asked to submit a copy of her marriage license, she never followed up.
When she was up for a promotion in January 2025, one of her colleagues "checked the status of Bardisa’s license and discovered that she had an expired certified nursing assistant license, which the employee reported to administrators," police said.
That’s when the hospital found out that she had never confirmed her identity with her marriage license. In addition to the sheriff’s office investigation, the Florida Department of Health and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services opened a probe.
"The investigation determined that Bardisa shared a first name with the other nurse, who was employed by AdventHealth, but at a different hospital, and had attended school with her. However, the two did not personally know each other," the department confirmed.
Bardisa is facing seven counts of practicing a healthcare profession without a license and seven counts of fraudulent use of personal identification information. She’s currently being held on a $70,000 bond.
