Sean “Diddy” Combs and his legal team are accusing the federal government of leaking the video showing him assaulting ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, to the media.

According to legal documents reviewed by TMZ, Diddy’s legal counsel claims that the Department of Homeland Security, not the U.S. Attorney’s Office, was responsible for leaking the footage to CNN.

In May, the news outlet shared the video in question, which was shot from multiple surveillance cameras at a hotel in Los Angeles on March 5, 2016, showing the music mogul physically abusing Ventura, now 38.

Without naming the singer, the 54-year-old published a since-deleted apology on his Instagram account stating he “hit rock bottom” and called his behavior in the video “inexcusable.”

“I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I'm disgusted now,” he said in the now-deleted clip. “I went and I sought out professional help and I had to go into therapy. We're going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I'm so sorry, but I'm committed to be a better man each and every day. I'm not asking for forgiveness. I'm truly sorry.”

Diddy's lawyers are now seeking an evidentiary hearing to address the matter. In the new docs, he reportedly criticized the federal raids on his homes, claiming they were overly brutal and accused agents of handcuffing his children.
