Jim Jones on Ciara Encouraging Him to Finally Marry Chrissy Lampkin: ‘I Needed to Hear That'

Jim Jones says Ciara encouraging him to finally marry his partner Chrissy Lampkin was “great advice.”

The Dipset rapper, 48, gave an interview to Power 105.1’s DJ Self at the 2025 BET Awards radio room when he was suddenly interrupted by the 39-year-old “Goodies” singer with an impassioned plea to marry Lampkin.

“Why not? Y’all have lived life in every capacity anyone could live in," Ciara told Jones. "You’re living like you already done it, so let’s just seal it properly."

She continued, “She deserves it, you deserve it. Why not? I look at y’all and I’m like, 'They’re so fly.' Chrissy is so beautiful and so dope, and she holds you down, like down, down, down. This is the spirit talking through me right here.

“Y’all touch so many people. It’s time,” Ciara added.

In a separate interview with The Breakfast Club’s Loren LoRosa, Jones was asked about his thoughts on the encounter.

“I felt like I got scolded by somebody that was younger than me,” Jones joked in the video linked above. “Nah, it was good though. It was a great piece of advice. Honestly, I needed that encouragement.

“I needed to hear that, especially for somebody who's active in preaching what she's teaching, you know what I mean?” he continued. “My situation has been going better than a lot of things that have been going on out here.

“So I ain't I ain't pointing no fingers, I'm just comfortable in what I'm doing,” he concluded.

Jones and Lampkin first began dating in 2004, and their relationship has played out publicly since Love & Hip Hop debuted in 2011. Despite multiple proposals, the couple has yet to walk down the aisle.

On the other hand, Ciara has been married to Russell Wilson since 2016. In addition to co-parenting 11-year-old Future, the couple also shares Sienna Princess, 8, Win Harrison, 4, and 1-year-old Amora Princess.
