Maurene Comey, Federal Prosecutor in Diddy Case, Reportedly Fired
Comey is FBI Director James Comey's daughter.
Maurene Comey has been fired from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, where she was most recently leading the federal investigation into Sean "Diddy" Combs, sources told ABC News on Wednesday. Politico, who spoke with two sources, reported the news first.
Comey is the daughter of former FBI Director James Comey, who was fired by Donald Trump during his first term following the Russia investigation.
Comey, who worked in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for nearly ten years, held the title of senior trial counsel and was recently part of the team that prosecuted Diddy.
Prior to that, she prosecuted both sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell.
Plies called out Donald Trump after the president urged people to stop focusing on Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged client list. The DOJ and FBI recently concluded Epstein died by suicide and had no high-profile blackmail list. Plies responded on Twitter, writing, “77 million people voted for a liar. Now they mad he lying!”
Stephen A. Smith recently dismissed concerns about Epstein’s alleged client list, saying he doesn’t care about it. His comments came during an appearance on NewsNation, aligning with Donald Trump’s recent stance on the topic.
The list has resurfaced in headlines after Trump allies, including Pam Bondi and Kash Patel, claimed it exists—Bondi even stated earlier this year that it was “sitting on my desk right now.”
