Young Thug Drops Video for New Single "Money on Money" f/ Future Ahead of Upcoming 'UY Scuti' Album
This marks Thug's first major release since being freed from prison following the YSL RICO case last year.
Young Thug has returned—alongside frequent collaborator Future—with their new single, "Money on Money." The pair released the song on Friday after teasing its existence earlier this week.
The video features the ATL super duo with tools in tow, surgically removing the doors from a visually expensive-looking car before joyriding around. It’s possibly a nod to the Maybach-altering visuals in 2011’s “Otis” by Ye (formerly Kanye West) and Jay-Z.
Not long before the video was released, Lil Baby—among others—took to social media to support his fellow ATL rapper, sharing a message hyping the song's visual. "@thuggerthugger1 dropping the video of the year tonight," Baby wrote on his Instagram Story.
The track arrives shortly after Thug, who was released from custody last October following a guilty plea in the YSL RICO case, hinted that fans could expect a new album titled UY Scuti in the near future. The title takes its name from the supergiant star located roughly 9,500 lightyears from our planet.
Thug's confirmation of the new album comes with perfect timing as this month also marks the 10th anniversary of Thug’s long-revered Barter 6 tape. UY Scuti would mark Thug’s first album since Business Is Business in 2023.
"It’s time. Red Planet," Thug simply wrote on X (formerly Twitter), alongside a link to a website featuring the album for pre-order and various pieces of merch.
