During a private jet journey from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday, May 22, Britney Spears allegedly caused a drunken scene.

As reported by TMZ, multiple sources close to the situation said that Spears was traveling with her security team on Thursday when she drunkenly tried to smoke a cigarette on board the flight. She was able to light the cigarette and took some drags before flight attendants told her to put it out. She complied, but sources said that she proved to be "difficult" and had clearly been drinking. When she arrived at LAX, authorities warned her not to do something like that again.

A spokesperson for the private plane service JSX, which operated the flight on Thursday, declined to comment on the alleged incident. It doesn't appear as though she will face any serious repercussions.

Following the end of her 13 year conservatorship, which was overseen by her father Jamie Spears, Spears has been in the news a lot for her behavior on social media, which has included multiple of photos and videos of her scantily clad. Her marriage to actor Sam Asghari also made a lot of headlines. The couple wed in 2022, separated the following year, and finalized the divorce in 2024.

Last year, she denied reports that she got into an argument with her on-again-off-again boyfriend Paul Soliz that got so bad paramedics were called. "Just to let people know ... the news is fake !!!" she wrote, requesting privacy.
