Cam'ron Says He Turned Down Eric Adams' Offer for the Key to NYC: 'I Don't Want to Be Involved With Nothing'
The indicted mayor previously offered the key to the city to Diddy.
On the latest episode of It Is What It Is, Cam'ron and Mase offered their takes on the indictment of NYC Mayor Eric Adams.
At the top of the episode, which can be seen above, Mase brought up the indictment and Cam suggested that Adams' team directly reached out to him with an offer last month. "You know what's crazy?" he said. "Last month they called me and [asked] if I wanted the key to the city. I said, 'I don't want to be involved with nothing.' They offered me that shit. They said, 'Cam, you want the key to the city?' I'm like, 'That ain't really up my alley right now, I'm cool with the key to New York City, man.'"
Cam said he didn't even know what the key to the city would get him, while his admission he turned it down got a big laugh from Mase. "The n***as who had previously had them... I don't got nothing to do with the key to the city," Cam laughed. "I actually got to go to New York this weekend for about 20 minutes."
Earlier this week, Eric Adams was indicted for his involvement in an alleged scheme involving the Turkish government's plans for a consulate in Manhattan, which faced safety concerns. There are five federal charges in the indictment, which relate to bribery, wire fraud, conspiracy, and soliciting campaign contributions from foreign nationals.
He has denied the allegations against him and has indicated that he plans to fight the charges in court.
