Diddy’s Team Plays Audio of Cassie Threatening to Kill Man Who Said He Had ‘Freak-Off’ Video
Cassie testified that Diddy threatened to release explicit videos of her as blackmail.
During the cross-examination of Cassie at Diddy's sex trafficking and racketeering trial, attorneys for the disgraced Bad Boy Records founder played audio of her threatening to kill a man after he implied he saw an explicit video of her in 2014.
As reported by The New York Times and independent journalist Matthew Russell, defense attorney Anna Estevao played audio for the jury of Cassie arguing with a man after he implied he saw an explicit video of her. "If you saw a video of someone fucking me, who was fucking me?" she said in the clip, to which he said he didn't show her the video because it would be disrespectful. "If you don't show me, I will kill you, cut you up."
In the audio, she continued to confront the man, who is alleged to be an escort named Sujit. "I will fucking kill you, I've never killed anyone in my life, I am going to fuck you up," she said. "It's not going to be blood on my hands, someone else is going to do it. I'm not playing with you, Sujit. Tell me." Before playing the audio, Estevao said it was from the time Diddy told Cassie to "go get the video [she] heard about."
When asked if that was her in the audio, she confirmed it was. Cassie was also asked if she believed another escort, named Jonathan Oddi, recorded a video of one of their sexual encounters. She confirmed that Diddy expressed concern about videos being released and that she "didn't trust" Oddi. "What did [Diddy] say when you told him you thought Mr. Oddi was recording?" the attorney asked. "He said he'd take care of it," Cassie replied.
Diddy's legal team played the audio to argue that he wasn't using the explicit videos of her as blackmail, and worked together to block any potential release of such material. During her testimony, she alleged that Diddy would record their sex sessions with escorts he hired and would use the footage as blackmail against her.
"I feared for my career," she testified. "I feared for my family." She also alleged that during one of their final in-person interactions in August 2018, he raped her in her living room. "I just remember crying and saying no, but it was very fast," she said.
