Halsey Shares the Kinky Video for New Song "Safeword"
Halsey is going for a different aesthetic with their pop punk-influenced new single.
Halsey is boldly entering a new era with the erotically-charged music video for their new song "Safeword."
Directed by Lana Jay Lackey, the video for the pop-punk track sees Halsey sporting slicked back hair and various latex outfits. It's a fairly graphic visual for the track, which sees the 30-year-old taking charge.
"Just say the safe word when you've had enough," Halsey sings on the track. At one point in the video, they're hung upside down with just tape covering their chest, while in another moment they put their feet up on someone in a submissive dog outfit.
The arrival of the track—their first new material since The Great Impersonator dropped in October—comes not long after they announced they will go on tour later this year, starting in May.
Titled For My Last Trick: The Tour, the string of dates will feature support from the likes of Alvvays, Royel Otis, Sir Chloe, Del Water Gap, Magdalena Bay, and a special appearance from Evanescence at the Los Angeles stop.
