Houston rapper Sauce Walka has been hospitalized following a shooting in Memphis, Tennessee, that police believe was "targeted."

As detailed by the Memphis Police Department on Facebook, the 34-year-old rapper was one of the two men shot in downtown Memphis on Saturday. The other man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead, while Walka was taken to a nearby hospital in "non-critical condition."

The department said that the shooting "appears to be an isolated incident, not random violence."

The police did not identify the surviving victim of the shooting, but TMZ later confirmed that Sauce Walka was taken to the hospital.

In a press conference held the same day as the shooting, per Fox 13 Memphis, a spokesperson for the Memphis Police Department described the shooting as "targeted."

According to police, the two victims were shot by multiple suspects who pulled up to them and got out of their vehicle. The suspects "fired shots without engaging in any conversation, they got back into the white vehicle and fled," they added.

"Early indications are that the victims and suspects are known to each other. We understand the public’s concern and reiterate that this was not a random act," the Memphis Police Department said in a statement shared with People. "[The department] is committed to bringing those responsible to justice and will be utilizing downtown camera footage and other technology available to aid in identifying everyone involved."
