Lizzo Taps DaBaby for “Truth Hurts” Remix
The hit record receives another boost.
Lizzo and DaBaby—two of music’s fastest-rising stars—have joined forces on the official “Truth Hurts” remix.
Lizzo confirmed the collaboration via Instagram on Wednesday, posting a screenshot of the music file.
“Why u come fa me like that lmaoooooo,” she wrote in the caption, suggesting DaBaby had something good up his sleeve.
“I just took a DNA test, and it told me I'm the realest pretty chocolate n***ga/Out here with some good dick, no cap,” DaBaby rapped in the second verse. “[…] She bigger, I prolly lose in a fight/And I'ma talk my shit but I'm in love with her big fine ass/So I'ma do what she like.”
The “Truth Hurts” remix is available now on all major DSPs.
The record, produced by Ricky Reed, was originally released in 2017, but experienced a big boost this year when it was featured on the Netflix rom-com Something Great. The track has since gone platinum, topped the US Rhythmic Billboard chart, and inspired a viral meme.
Lizzo is now gearing up for her VMA performance this Monday in Newark, New Jersey. The singer/rapper is up for Best New Artist presented by Taco Bell and Push Artist of the Year. The awards show will air at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.
