Lil Wayne Claims He Was Unaware of Kanye and Jay-Z’s ‘Watch the Throne’ Album, Fans Call Bullsh*t

In 2011, Wayne responded to Jay's 'Watch the Throne' song, "H.A.M.," which appeared to diss Birdman.

Lil Wayne apparently didn’t know Ye and Jay-Z made their collaborative album, Watch the Throne.

During Wayne’s interview for his Rolling Stone cover story, Watch the Throne came up during conversation, prompting him to ask, “What’s that?”

When writer Andre Gee told him it was Ye and Hov’s joint project, Wayne responded, “They did an album?”

It seems Wayne’s unawareness is nonsense; he directly dissed Jay on his September 2011 song “It’s Good.”

“Talkin ’bout baby money? I got your baby money / Kidnap your bitch, get that ‘how-much-you-love-your-lady’ money,” Weezy raps.

The diss was a response to Jay’s Watch the Throne song, "H.A.M.," which arrived in August 2011. “I'm like, ‘Really, half a billi, n***a, really?’ You got baby money / Keep it real with n***as, n***as ain't got my lady money," Jigga raps.

He appeared to be dissing Birdman, whose nickname is Baby. In 2009, Birdman responded to MTV calling Jay the “Hottest MC," per Genius.

“I don’t think [Jay-Z] is the number one MC in no kind of way. Wayne’s the best. He do the most and he make the most money. I don’t think no n***a in the business make more money than us. How can you be the best if you don’t make the most money? And you don’t do the most? Lyrically, come on man, be for real, can’t nobody fuck with Wayne… If you number one and you ain’t getting no money it don’t mean nothing."

But, as Jay pointed out, his net worth in 2011 was $500 million, seemingly surpassing Wayne and Birdman’s respective net worths at the time.
