Nav Reveals He Got 12 Staples in the Back of His Head After Getting Into Childhood Fight
The Toronto artist shared his latest album, 'OMW2 Rexdale' last week.
It appears Nav had a scrappy childhood growing up in Toronto. So much so, that he needed to get his head stapled back together after a fight.
During a conversation with N3on, the artist called the time a “different era” compared to now.
“When we was growing up, there wasn’t the cameras and everything,” Nav explained at around the 6:15 minute mark of the video above. “A lot of ass whoopings in middle school that were really embarrassing and would have been viral back in my time that just couldn’t be.”
When N3on asked if Nav had been in “street fights,” Nav said he did a lot of “punk shit” in high school.
“To be honest, that shit’s not worth it ‘cause you can really fuck your whole life up," he said. "I got 12 staples on the back of my head from getting hit with a bottle.”
Last week, Nav dropped off his latest album, OMW2 Rexdale, a nod to Toronto’s Rexdale neighborhood, where he grew up. The project boasts limited features from Don Toliver, Playboi Carti, and Metro Boomin, and is the follow-up to Nav’s 2022 offering, Demons Protected by Angels.
Carti’s appearance on the album cut, “Unlimited” made headlines because the track was originally supposed to be a collaboration for Offset’s 2023 album, Set It Off. However, Carti never cleared the sample and later handed it to Nav, who also added a verse from The Weeknd.
