Ye Apologizes to Jay-Z Over Offensive Comment

Ye expresses regret for commenting on Jay-Z, but it is unclear if he's referring to his tweet about Jay-Z and Beyoncé's twins.

Ye apologized to Jay-Z…kinda.

The artist formerly known as Kanye West took to X early Thursday morning, letting off a flurry of tweets, with one directed to Hov.

“I’m sorry Jay Z,” Ye wrote.

“I be feeling bad about my tweet but I still feel I gave my life to this industry and thought so many people were my family but when I needed family on some real shit none of these rap n***as had my back.”

Though it is unclear which tweet he is talking about, last month he commented on Jay and Beyoncé’s seven-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir.

In March, Ye hopped on X, writing, “Wait, has anyone ever seen Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s younger kids?” before using the R-word to describe the children. He later removed the posts, explaining he only did so “not because I’m a good person” but because he didn’t want to get kicked off the platform.

West also refused to apologize to the Carter family after his remarks.

“THERE WILL NEVER BE AN APOLOGY TO THE CARTER FAMILY UNTIL THEY HELP ME WITH MY CHILDREN,” West wrote of JAY and Beyoncé. “N***AS BE GETTING ONE N***A OUT OF JAIL AT A TIME TO LOOK PRESTIGIOUS. THE CARTERS AND THE KARDASHIAN ARE BASICALLY THE SAME EXCEPT THE KARDASHIANS ARE SEX TRAFFICKING.”

West appears to have a lot of opinions about Jay and Bey’s relationship. Last August, Candace Owens shared an old interview she did with Ye from 2022, where he spoke on the A-list couple.

“I just think Yoncé need to let him go get some pussy, seriously,” Ye said. The comment prompted laughter from Owens, which made Ye laugh. “Go to DR or something,” he added.
