Cam’ron Says He Cried After News of Young Scooter Death
The rapper and podcast host collaborated with Young Scooter on "Over Wit" in 2014.
Cam'ron was moved to tears over the death of Young Scooter last week.
The rapper and podcast host opened a recent episode of It Is What It Is with a tribute to the Atlanta rapper, who died last Friday (March 28) on his 39th birthday after reportedly fleeing police. Young Scooter, real name Kenneth Edward Rashaad Bailey, was said to have injured his leg while hopping a fence during the chase, which resulted in substantial blood loss.
"Big rest in peace to my bro Young Scooter, man. That’s my n***a, man," Cam'ron began the episode, as seen above. "That shit had me in tears this past weekend. I love that n***a, man. So just wanna give a rest in peace to Young Scooter."
The rappers collaborated on 2014 song "Over Wit," which appeared on Young Scooter's eighth mixtape, Street Lottery 2.
During his life, Young Scooter was signed to Future's Freebandz and Waka Flocka Flame's 1017 Records. The cause of the rapper's death has also been widely debated, with Young Thug theorizing that Scooter was shot by police, which they've denied, while Scooter's son, Kenneth Jr., has also shown anger towards local authorities.
On Tuesday (April 1), a woman, 31-year-old Demetria Spence, was arrested and charged with transmitting a false public alarm, causing panic in a 911 call regarding Scooter. In a call recording, Spence claimed that several armed men were in a house neighboring hers with a female victim badly beaten and held hostage inside. Upon police arrival, Scooter tried to escape.
Spence, a former contestant of Zeus Network shows Baddies, would later post an Instagram Story and reveal that she was untruthful in her police call.
