The singer, who also received $20 million from Diddy after suing him for abuse and rape, testified about the settlement while on the stand.

Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura has revealed that she reached a sizable settlement with a Los Angeles hotel after a 2016 video surfaced of her being assaulted by Diddy.

During a cross-examination in the United States v. Combs trial on Friday (May 16), Ventura testified that she demanded money from the InterContinental Hotel for sharing the surveillance video last May. In the shocking video, the singer and model can be seen being viciously kicked and dragged by Diddy (real name Sean Combs). Ventura testified this happened as a result of her trying to escape a 'freak-off.'

Settlement discussions are said to have ended earlier this month for eight figures. "I don't know the exact number. Ten million, maybe," Ventura shared in court, as reported by Complex's Shawn Sertaro.

Diddy, who previously denied having battered Ventura, posted a since-deleted explanation video about the assault last year.

"I mean, I hit rock bottom but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable," he said last May. "I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I'm disgusted now."

Weighing in on the attack, Ventura's husband, Alex Fine, whom the singer has been married to since 2019, also shared a statement at the time of Diddy's apology.

"Men who hit women aren’t men. Men who enable it and protect those people aren’t men," the fitness trainer wrote. "As men, violence against women shouldn’t be inevitable, check your brothers, your friends, and your family. Our daughters, sisters, mothers, and wives should feel protected and loved. Hold the women in your life with the [utmost] regard. Men who hurt women hate women."

He added: "To the abusers, you're done, you're not safe anymore, you're not protected anymore, the men by your side are just as weak, you're so miserable with yourself that death would be considered a kindness."
