GloRilla Denies She Was 'Busted' for Cannabis, Calls Drug Arrest 'Crazy'
The rapper claimed she was targeted after police were called to her home for a suspected burglary.
GloRilla has hit back against the police for allegedly targeting her, after she was arrested and charged with drug possession.
On Tuesday (July 22), the "Shyne" rapper was booked into Forsyth County Jail and accused of possession of a scheduled controlled substance and possession of marijuana over one ounce. Later that day, GloRilla was released on a $22,260 bond.
The Memphis native was arrested after authorities responded to "a report of a burglary in progress" on Sunday (July 20) at a residence in Georgia, which GloRilla owns. The rapper was not home at the time, but it was reported that three suspects had entered and began stealing items when an armed occupant fired at the group, which caused them to flee.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, deputies said they "detected a strong odor consistent with illegal narcotics" in the home, with a "significant amount of marijuana" being located in the master bedroom closet.
Although the Forsyth County Sheriff Ron Freeman called GloRilla a "victim of a serious crime," the rapper believes that she was unlawfully targeted and addressed the matter on X.
"CRAZY‼️ My House got Home Invaded Saturday While I was in Indianapolis performing for the WNBA all star game & instead of Focusing on finding the Suspects , they focus on some cannabis," she wrote on Thursday (July 24).
GloRilla added that she wasn't "busted," denied that she was robbed and home at the time of the incident. "Long story short my house gets home invaded and Im the only one that gets arrested," she concluded. "So that’s tea🤷🏼♀️"
A search is currently underway for the home invasion suspects. In a statement provided to TMZ, GloRilla's legal representatives, Marissa Goldberg and Drew Findling, said that the arrest is "a disturbing window into how warped law enforcement priorities have become."
Last April, the rapper was arrested in Georgia for driving under the influence, with smells of alcohol and marijuana emitting from her vehicle.
ComplexCon returns to Las Vegas on October 25–26, 2025, with over 300 brands and live performances by Young Thug, YEAT & Friends, Peso Pluma, Central Cee, Ken Carson, and more. Get your tickets now.
