Kevin Durant on Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl Halftime Show: 'Meant Nothing to Me... Pretty Boring Day'
Kevin Durant, who's good friends with Drake, said he "didn’t pay attention" to Kendrick Lamar's performance at the Super Bowl.
Kevin Durant did not appear to be all that impressed with Kendrick Lamar's performance at the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show or the game itself.
When asked by Dana Scott of The Arizona Republic on Monday for his thoughts about the halftime show, Durant responded, "It meant nothing to me."
“It was a pretty boring day,” Durant added. “The game was a little… yeah, the game got out of hand.”
KD said he "didn't pay attention" to Kendrick's performance and "kind of skimmed through the whole thing." Funny enough, that's the same way Drake said he listened to Future and Metro Boomin’s collab albums, We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You, on the diss track, "Family Matters."
"Two separate albums dissin’, I just did a Kim to it, n***a, skim through it," he rapped.
Durant clearly remains firmly planted in Drake's corner, even after the rapper's feud with Lamar. It should not come as a surprise to find out where KD’s loyalty lies. After the news surfaced of the Toronto native filing a petition through his Frozen Moments LLC, accusing Universal Music Group and Spotify of artificially inflating the popularity of the Kendrick diss track "Not Like Us," Durant posted a screenshot of a time stamp on Drake's "30 for 30 Freestyle" on his Instagram Stories.
"When the higher-ups have come together as a collective / With conspiracies to end my run and send me a message / 40, did you get the message?," Drake rapped.
The post comes after Drake name-dropped KD on the song "No Face" a few months prior, rapping, "Husher keep sayin’ they know that they played it wrong, KD just text, ‘What the fuck are we waitin’ on?"
Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards shared last year that Durant only listened to Drake while they were in Paris for the Summer Olympics.
Durant's relationship with Drake goes beyond being a fan of his music. The two actually hang out with each other, as they did on Canada Day, according to the New York Post.
