Diddy Denied Bail After Team Files Motion for Release With $50 Million Bond
He'll remain behind bars until his sentencing on Oct. 3.
Sean "Diddy" Combs has been denied bail for a second time as he awaits sentencing on Oct. 3 for two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution.
According to court documents viewed by Complex, Judge Arun Subramanian ruled on Monday to deny Diddy's proposed $50 million bond, siding with prosecutors.
"As for risk of flight or danger, Combs fails to meet his burden by clear and convincing evidence for the reasons set forth on the record at the July 2, 2025, hearing," reads the court docs. "Increasing the amount of the bond or devising additional conditions doesn’t change the calculus given the circumstances and heavy burden of proof that Combs bears."
In a motion filed on July 29, Diddy's defense argued the disgraced mogul is the only person in the country who has been jailed for conduct related to consensual sex under the Mann Act.
"There has literally never been a case like this one [...] Sean Combs should not be in jail for this conduct," the motion stated. The defense also said Diddy remaining behind bars is “inconsistent with Justice Department policy” that goes after commercial entities for sex exploitation, not individuals.
In June, a jury convicted Diddy for two counts under the Mann Act but was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. He was kept in jail after the court said his history of violence made him a danger to the community, but the defense noted that Diddy was enrolled in a domestic violence program until his arrest.
Diddy’s team offered a bail package including the $50 million bond secured by his Florida estate as well as strict supervision and travel restrictions with electronic monitoring.
President Donald Trump might be Diddy’s last shot at freedom, as the president has publicly debated pardoning the Bad Boy Records founder.
“He was essentially, I guess, sort of half-innocent,” Trump said last week. “He was celebrating a victory, but I guess it wasn’t as good of a victory.”
Trump’s decision, though, seems to hinge at least in part on whether he can forgive Diddy for being “hostile” toward him during the election season.
“It’s hard, you know? We’re human beings,” Trump said. “And we don’t like to have things cloud our judgment, right? But when you knew someone and you were fine, and then you run for office, and he made some terrible statements. So I don’t know … It makes it more difficult to do.”
