Young Thug Calls Atlanta Police Investigator the 'Biggest Liar'
The investigator was a key witness in the YSL RICO trial that frustrated a judge with her answer.
Young Thug has called an investigator with the Atlanta Police Department the "biggest liar" in the city's justice system.
On Tuesday, the rapper shared a tweet on his X page calling out Marissa Viverito, an investigative analyst for the Atlanta Police Department, for allegedly lying on his name and others, such as Lil Baby. Thug shared a picture of Viverito and wrote, "Biggest liar in the DA office." He also reposted a tweet from a fan page that shared more images of Viverito with a caption that read, "All my homies hate Viverito."
The fan page later claimed that Viverito lied to get Thugga and others arrested while adding she was allegedly making fraudulent claims about Lil Baby, too.
Viverito had been called to the stand on March 31 for a preliminary hearing to decide if seven men charged in the shooting deaths of two Atlanta teenagers will go to trial.
In February, Atlanta PD stated, under Viverito's alleged findings, that Lil Baby shot a music video in rival gang territory that led to the teenagers getting killed. Baby's lawyer fired back and called the accusations "complete and total nonsense" while adding that a professional team made the decision to use the location in the music video.
Viverito was also a key witness in the YSL RICO trial, where she frustrated a judge over her misleading answer to a lawyer's question about rap lyrics during a cross-examination. The defense questioned Viverito about the song Slatt Talk by SB, an artist affiliated with YSL, specifically referencing a lyric where he said, "I beat a murder rap."
SB's lawyer asked Viverito if his client had ever "beaten" a homicide charge. SB is facing a murder charge; however, he has never been acquitted or convicted of a homicide. Viverito explained that the rap lyric was "a real slippery slope," which led the judge to ask the jury to leave the courtroom and question her response.
The judge reprimanded Viverito for her lack of clarity, telling her, "If you're testifying to the facts, just give us the facts," after she claimed that one of the co-defendants who accepted a plea deal was "very proud of his affiliation with Young Slime Life."
