Cardi B Confirms Pregnancy Amid Reports of Offset Divorce: 'A New Beginning' (UPDATE)
Cardi's confirmation comes shortly after reports of her having filed for divorce from Offset.
UPDATED 8/3 6:36 ET: Cardi B is still on track to release her sophomore album this year despite the latest news that she's pregnant with her third child and getting a divorce from Offset.
According to TMZ, sources close to the superstar rapper have revealed that the latest updates in her life won't delay the release of her new album, which is supposed to drop later this year. Cardi is reportedly 75 percent done with the album and has several high-profile guest features.
The source also added she recorded a boatload of songs in the six years since her last album, Invasion of Privacy, was released. It also wasn't confirmed whether or not Cardi's estranged husband, Offset, would appear on the album.

After some headlined speculation, Cardi B has confirmed that she is pregnant.
In an Instagram update on Thursday, the Grammy-winning Invasion of Privacy artist celebrated "a new beginning' mere hours after news broke that she had allegedly filed for divorce from Offset, with whom she shares two previous children.
"With every ending comes a new beginning!" Cardi said in the caption of the post, as seen below. "I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power! Reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!"
Mere hours earlier on Thursday, the usual suspects ran reports claiming that Cardi had filed for divorce from Offset, whom she married in 2017. The couple share two children, Kulture and Wave.
News of the alleged split did not come as a shock, however, as Cardi herself publicly confirmed her singledom in the final days of 2023.
"Every single time that this guy has been so crazy, so fucked up and it hits the media, I'm always crying, always sad because I don't like that type of shit," Cardi told fans in December. "This time, I wasn't crying."
Among those who offered their congrats to Cardi upon Thursday’s pregnancy announcement were GloRilla, Lola Brooke, Jason Lee, and Nicole Zavala. As of this writing, Offset had not spoken publicly about the pregnancy.
