Dame Dash Warned by Judge of Possible Arrest Warrant Amid Mounting Legal Issues
Dame was recently reported to owe millions in judgments.
Dame Dash has been warned about the potential for an arrest warrant to be issued amid mounting legal issues.
In an order filed late last month listing Josh Webber and Muddy Water Pictures as plaintiffs and Dash and his Dame Dash Studios as defendants, U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert W. Lehrburger granted a motion arguing that Dash had failed to comply with discovery. By May 9, per the order, Dash must comply with plaintiffs’ discovery requests. If appropriate action is not taken in the time specified, the order, viewed by Complex, states that “an arrest warrant for Mr. Dash to bring him to court to respond to the discovery sought” may be issued.
The order, dated April 29, also mentions a “purported forthcoming bankruptcy” and defense counsel’s efforts to withdraw from the case. As noted in a report from the New York Post, Dash has also been accused of destroying evidence and is estimated to owe millions in judgments.
In March, Dash was reported to be facing a $4 million default judgment in connection with a defamation lawsuit from Webber, who had alleged that the Roc-A-Fella alum’s podcast remarks cost him a lucrative opportunity.
One month earlier, Cam’ron shared his thoughts on Dash’s financial woes during an episode of his and Mase’s It Is What It Is. While Cam expressed gratitude for Dash having been a key figure along his journey, he was more critical of his alleged spending habits.
“Dame would be set for life if he knew how to manage his money,” Cam said at the time.
