Drake has shared a petition that urges for Tory Lanez to be pardoned in the wake of his recent stabbing in prison.

Drake posted "@torylanez come home soon" on his Instagram Story on Friday along with a link to a petition named "Pardon Tory Lanez: Urge Governor Newsom to Correct a Deep Injustice." At the time of this writing, the post has 173,352 signatures. It was originally posted on Lanez' social media accounts.

On May 12, Lanez' social media profiles were updated with the news that he was reportedly stabbed 14 times in prison. According to the post, both of his lungs collapsed and he was placed on a breathing apparatus. "Despite being in pain, he is talking normally, in good spirits, and deeply thankful to God that he is pulling through," reads the message. "He also wants to thank everyone for their continued prayers and support."

According to TMZ, Lanez' alleged attacker was Santino Casio, who is reportedly serving a life sentence for a murder charge. Casio was previously handed a six-year sentence for assaulting another inmate with a deadly weapon, along with a two-year sentence for possessing or manufacturing a weapon while incarcerated. A motive for Lanez' stabbing hasn't been revealed yet.

In the wake of Lanez' stabbing, a non-profit organization called Unite the People claimed that a testimony from a bodyguard proved that he's innocent in the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion for which he's currently incarcerated for. The group's "lead consultant," Walter Roberts claimed a man named Bradley James, who claimed to have been Megan's friend Kelsey Harris' bodyguard at the time, approached him and claimed to be a "witness" to Harris admitting to firing the weapon.
