Producer Mustard Reveals Signature Mustard Heinz Collaboration
The prolific hip-hop producer known for his 'on the beat' tag is now on the shelves of the condiment section.
Mustard is on the beat. And now, on your favorite sandwiches.
Prolific hip-hop producer Dijon “Mustard” McFarlane has revealed a new collaboration with Heinz, which puts his signature blend of the beloved condiment. Mustard’s limited edition variation is a chipotle honey flavor, which is available for a limited time at Target, Walmart, and Amazon.
“This collab coming to life is a big deal and something that has been decades in the making for me,” said Mustard in a statement. “Everyone knows me for my beats and sound, but what they don’t know is that cooking and grilling is a huge part of my life. I’m on the grill every chance I get. I’ve been using HEINZ since I was a kid, so partnering with them is something I’ve always wanted to do.”
Mustard is known for his signature, West Coast, 808-driven sounds. Many hip-hop fans can identify a Mustard-produced track when they hear the “Mustard on the beat, ho” tag in the intro. Mustard has produced hits for the likes of Tinashe, YG, Nicki Minaj, Wiz Khalifa, and perhaps most famously, Kendrick Lamar.
The Grammy-winner was at the helm of Lamar’s famous Drake diss “Not Like Us” last year, which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking his first No. 1 produced hit. Mustard went on to produce a portion of Lamar’s fifth major label album GNX, including the song “TV Off,” which features Lamar shouting “MUSTAAAAAARD!” Mustard’s signature blend features this famous line on the label.
“Much like Heinz, Mustard is someone who goes all in when he creates something to put out into the world,” said Todd Kaplan, North American Chief Marketing Officer for Kraft Heinz, in a statement. “He has been a fan of the brand for years, so it was only a matter of time before Mustard met his perfect match with Heinz. It’s been great to collaborate with him on so many levels, as this partnership will manifest in an amazing new sauce remix that we know our collective fans will love. He has brought the same energy and commitment he pours into all of his music to this partnership, and we can’t wait for all the surprises in store for the year ahead!”
In addition to this new condiment partnership, Mustard is currently opening for Lamar and SZA on their ongoing Grand National Tour.
