What Is the Nicki Minaj TikTok Trend That Even Ciara Is Doing?

An extremely niche Nicki Minaj challenge has emerged on social media. In true TikTok fashion, it’s starting to get a little out of hand.

What is the Nicki Minaj trend?

In the last week, a clip from the music video for Minaj’s 2013 Lil Wayne-featuring song, “High School,” has taken on a life of its own. TikTok users are attempting to recreate the Pinkprint rapper’s poolside pose, which sees her squatting and crossing one of her legs over the other in extremely high heels.

Of course, TikTok has taken it to extremes, with participants striking the pose while balanced on top of cooking pots, soda cans, dumbbells, jungle gyms, books, kitchen counters and more. Even Ciara has taken part in the trend, as has Alec Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria.

What else is Nicki Minaj up to?

The challenge comes amid Minaj's latest feud with SZA. On July 15, Minaj came for the TDE singer on X, sparking an exchange of messages between the pair.

Among those tweets, Minaj wrote a lengthy note, alongside a screenshot of herself doing the aforementioned poolside pose from the "High School" music video.

"Does Sza think she’s more successful than me?" Minaj asked before slamming SZA.

Nicki continued to make other claims, including that she was actually supposed to appear on Drake's "Rich Baby Daddy" instead of SZA. Minaj also told SZA, "And now that silly goose still out here shaking dat ass for drake every day. After swallowing his balls. Allegedly. Oh Mza give it up."

It's unclear what prompted Minaj's tirade or whether the pair ever had tension before this.
