The Puerto Rican rapper will join the cast of Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Details about the sequel, such as a plot and Bad Bunny’s role, are currently being kept under wraps.

Netflix confirmed in May that a sequel to the iconic 1996 golf comedy had been green-lit, with 58-year-old Sandler set to return in the title role.

The rapper, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, previously appeared opposite Brad Pitt in 2022’s Bullet Train. The following year, he starred in Cassandro, a biopic about Cassandro the Exotico, the first openly gay lucha libre wrestler. The film notably featured a scene where Bad Bunny locked lips with his co-star Gael García Bernal, which quickly went viral online.

Bad Bunny also showed off his comedic chops when he made his hosting debut on Saturday Night Live last October.

Although he didn’t specifically mention acting, Bad Bunny spoke to Complex at the opening night of his Most Wanted Tour in February, saying he wants “to do other things” for his next project.

“I think what’s happening is really cool, but I generally don’t know where I see myself right now, but it’s not here," Benito said at the time. "There’s a lot I want to do, a lot of music left to explore. A lot of heart."

Happy Gilmore 2 is officially in production and will also star Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald, who are reprising their roles as Virginia Venit and Shooter McGavin, respectively. No release date has been announced.
