Brittany Renner gave her followers an update on her life since converting to Islam.

In a nearly 2-minute video shared to her Instagram account, the 32-year-old influencer and Basketball Wives star talked about “developing a new relationship” with social media in light of some major changes she’s made in her life.

“First of all, Allahu Akbar. When I originally joined Instagram July of 2012, I joined for two reasons: validation and male attention,” Renner said on Instagram. “And now that I no longer need either of those things, I am developing a new relationship with just social media itself, so my posting has been a bit inconsistent.”

Renner shared that she’s been Muslim for five months and other new milestones.

“I haven't had a drink in six months, haven't had sex in eight months, and I changed my number four months ago. So if you went green, now you know why,” she quipped. “This has been a really beautiful purification process for me of the mind, heart, body and soul and an opportunity for me to meet myself deeper.”

She continued, “What I have discovered is how deserving I have always been and am. Even with wearing the hijab, trusting so much so, and who is meant to see me will see me for the right reasons.”

Renner also mentioned she’s been “filming [for] the last few months” and will show fans “a lot of updates.”

“I feel free. I do not belong to this world. This world did not give me my joy, and it can't take it either, and Alhamdulillah for that,” she said.

In a video shared last September, Renner said her “world has completely crumbled” since her conversion to Islam.

“I have no idea where I’m going to live or how I’m going to provide for my son,” Renner said at the time. “But Allah has moved mountains for me, and I trust that this will be no different.”
