Mindy Kaling Shows Support for Ben Affleck Amid Divorce From Jennifer Lopez: 'Hang in There'
Jennifer Lopez officially filed for divorce from Affleck on Tuesday after two years of marriage.
Mindy Kaling showed Ben Affleck support amid his divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
While speaking at the 2024 Democratic National Convention on Wednesday, Kaling gave a shout out to “the amazing delegation” from her home state of Massachusetts.
“I love you Massachusetts, everyone is always hating on us,” said the 45-year-old actress to the Chicago, Illinois crowd. “But they just don’t get it. Go [Red] Sox! Go Jayson Tatum! Ben Affleck, hang in there.”
“Dunkin Donuts is the best coffee in the world,” she quipped.
Kaling’s shout-out came a day after Lopez, 55, officially filed for divorce from the Boston-bred actor, 52, after months of speculation of the couple’s split. The couple were married just slightly over two years.
J.Lo filed the divorce docs on Tuesday with the Los Angeles County Superior Court without the assistance of an attorney, Complex confirmed. Sources told TMZ that a prenuptial agreement was not put in place.
In the documents, Lopez listed the date of separation as April 26, 2024. However, the day of the filing may have been intentional considering it was the second anniversary of a wedding ceremony they held in Georgia. The couple had actually tied the knot in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022.
TMZ also alleged that the couple had been trying to reach a settlement “for months” but their discussions are ongoing and occasionally have gotten heated. Jennifer wants to waive spousal support and asked the judge to deny Ben said support as well.
Bennifer reunited in 2021 after originally becoming one of Hollywood’s hottest couples in the early aughts.
