Tina Fey Says She Caught a Couple Making Out During Stand-Up Set About Her Mom's Death
The Emmy-winning actress caught an unexpected PDA moment during a serious moment on her comedy tour.
Tina Fey said she witnessed a couple making out in the front row of her comedy show—while she told a story about her late mother.
During a recent appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, the Emmy-winning actress recalled the bizarre moment from a recent stop of her Amy Poehler's Restless Leg Tour in Texas.
“There's another part of the show where we’re just doing sort of stand up, and I was telling a sort of serious story about losing my mom in the last year. I looked down, and a couple in the front row started making out,” Fey said near the two-minute, 30 second mark in the video linked above. “I was like, ‘OK, Dallas.’”
“Do you think maybe one of them had recently lost a parent and the other one was like, ‘I'm gonna take their mind off it?’” Meyers joked. “I'm just gonna start hardcore macking with them because I love them.”
Fey agreed, saying, “Just mack down … When you see someone sad, like, you have to mack down on them.”
“You know, almost every kiss cam at basketball games is because one of them has recently lost someone,” Meyers quipped.
During the interview, Meyers and Fey also spoke about their appearances on Saturday Night Live's 50th anniversary show, during which
"Like any SNL trajectory, I started off pretty grouchy," Fey said. "And then it got more and more fun, and as always, the most fun day was the doing of the show."
