Viola Davis Proves She's 60 & Stunning With New Cabo Vacation Photos

Viola Davis rang in her 60th birthday with a mini vacation diary from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, posting a carousel on Instagram on Aug. 15.

The first frame shows the Oscar winner in a pool, sunlight across her face. Another image features gold-and-white balloons spelling out “Happy B-Day” beside a giant “60,” followed by a quick look at brunch before a clip where friends and family sing as a cake arrives—strawberries on top, sparklers lit.

One photo captures Davis standing with one hand raised, and later slides show dancing, oversized “V” and “D” letters near a circular balloon arch, and a final peace-sign pose.

In the caption, Viola Davis set the tone for the milestone: “Best-kept secret? 60 is fabulous! I couldn’t feel any more blessed or loved.”

She continued, “Sixty years of love, lessons, and living with my whole heart. I’m so grateful for every single birthday wish, for the incredible people I get to share this life with, and for the unforgettable moments created at @suncabovacations.” She closed with, “Here’s to the next chapter—deeper, freer, louder.”

The comments doubled as a digital guest book. Halle Berry wrote, “60 never looked or felt so good !!!❤️.” Nia Long added, “Happy birthday, gorgeous lady! ❤️.” Shonda Rhimes left a string of hearts, and Priyanka Chopra wrote, “Gorgeous! Happiest birthday queen.”

Earlier in August, Viola Davis reflected on reaching this milestone while at the AFI Conservatory Class of 2025 Commencement in Los Angeles, where she received an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree.

Speaking with PEOPLE, she said, “I’m getting ready to be 60,” and referenced the younger version of herself: “Little Viola is always very close by. And I always saw her as damaged, but she wasn’t. She had a lot of beautiful qualities in her. I always want to honor her.”
