Blac Chyna is gearing up to celebrate three years of sobriety in September, and she's explained why she started her zero alcohol journey.

Speaking to TMZ, the TV personality (real name Angela White) discussed her decision not to drink anymore and shared details on her 30 Day Sobriety Challenge, which launches on Friday.

"I needed to better my life," Chyna said. "Once I got baptized and I started to feel the convictions, because it’s not just you get baptized and then you just live your life — you have to read the Bible."

She went on: "I really started to reflect and see like, 'Okay, I’m not okay, and I’m not healed. Once God, Jesus delivered me … it takes your spirituality to get you all the way through it."

The 37-year-old described herself as a "binge drinker," which was frequently captured on several reality TV shows, like Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Rob & Chyna, and Love & Hip Hop. Chyna reflected back on that time, telling the outlet that she’s come "so far."

Her 30-day challenge is a countdown to September 14, her third anniversary of being alcohol-free. She told TMZ that the challenge is a way for participants to hold themselves accountable and figure out what "triggers" them and causes them to avoid sobriety. Included in the program are scriptures, journaling prompts and more.

Chyna is also looking forward to the releasee of her new film, Pardon Me: The Bevelyn B. Williams Story, in which she plays the titular role. The biographical drama is based on the true story of an anti-abortion activist who was incarcerated for targeting abortion clinics. The Christian movie debuts on Friday (August 15) and is available to stream via WatchPardonMe.com.
