Millie Bobby Brown on ‘Disturbing’ Coverage of Her Appearance: 'This Is Bullying’
The 21-year-old recently slammed critics who thought she wasn’t dressing her age.
Millie Bobby Brown is slamming journalists who are criticizing how her appearance has changed.
“I grew up in front of the world, and for some reason, people can’t seem to grow with me,” Brown said in a video posted to her Instagram. “Instead, they act like I’m supposed to stay frozen in time, like I should still look the way I did on Stranger Things Season 1. And because I don’t, I’m now a target.”
She continued, “This isn’t journalism. This is bullying. The fact that adult writers are spending their time dissecting my face, my body, my choices, it’s disturbing. The fact that some of these articles are written by women? Even worse.”
Last week, the 21-year-old clapped back at critics who thought she wasn’t dressing her age, particularly pointing to a recent premiere of her new movie, The Electric State. For the red carpet, the actress donned an Annie’s Ibiza metallic gold and bronze striped embroidered gown and matching bolero jacket with her new platinum blond hair.
She later took to her IG Story to post a screenshot of a British Vogue story with the headline, “No One Cares How Old You Think Millie Bobby Brown Looks.”
“@britishvogue thank you,” she wrote.
