MrBeast Sues Ex-Employee for Allegedly Stealing Confidential Company Data
The former employee is also accused of installing hidden cameras in the Beast Industries office.
MrBeast has filed a lawsuit against a former employee, accusing him of misappropriation of trade secrets and breach of contract.
Polygon reports that MrBeast sued Leroy Nabors on April 4, also alleging that Nabors installed hidden cameras in the Beast Industries’ offices. According to the complaint, Nabors worked as an IT contractor for MrBeast from 2023 to 2024, when he was fired. During Nabors’ time there, he was “responsible for working on Beast’s IT network, including working with the servers that housed post-production Beast content.”
His daughter’s company, Vine Networks was a subcontract0r that helped oversee the IT network. Nabors switched roles in late 2023, working on the special projects team in the development department, where he managed “content production,” “fundraising,” and “political advocacy.”
Prior to starting his IT role, Nabors was asked to sign an NDA because he had access to Beast Industries' data. However, Nabors allegedly violated the NDA by downloading over a thousand confidential files “about business strategy, financial information, capitalization tables, financing documents, individual employee personal information, and other MrBeast intellectual property,” per the complaint.
MrBeast’s lawyers said that Nabors downloaded the sensitive information because he knew he was going to get fired, and still has access to these files. Additionally, an investigation after his termination revealed “multiple hidden cameras” in the offices, which attorneys think were controlled by Nabors and his daughter.
MrBeast is seeking damages and a permanent injunctive “ordering the return of all Beast information improperly in his possession.”
