Yesjulz Says Watching ‘Love Island’ Changed Her ‘Perspective on Dating'
The latest season of 'Love Island' has taken over the internet.
Love Island caused YesJulz to reimagine her attitude towards dating.
The socialite and influencer took to X on Monday, writing, “Love Island has really altered my perspective on dating and how I approach getting to know people I’m romantically interested in.”
Even though she has since deleted that tweet, YesJulz shared a few more thoughts with her followers and explained exactly what has changed.
“As a woman I have always only talked to one guy at a time,” she wrote. “I closed myself off from getting to know other people wayyyy too early in situations where I should’ve stayed open to getting to know others. Given loyalty to people who haven’t quite earned it.”
She continued, “So yeah the lesson here for me has been to explore until we have both decided we are closed off.”
In a subsequent tweet, YesJulz appears to get irritated with her followers’ responses, perhaps to her initial tweet.
“Don’t yall ever get tired of acting so dense? I can’t say shit on this app without it getting blown out of proportion my gawd," she tweeted.
It’s clear, though, that she’s now open to getting to know multiple people at once when dating.
“I don’t care what yall say I know my ladies feel me," she added. "Men be exploring like conquistadors while we close off after a first kiss. That’s what I meant when I said my perspective has shifted. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.”
Peacock’s Love Island has taken over the internet. The streamer is currently airing Season 7 of the reality show, which follows a group of contestants who live in a villa on an island. In order to survive, each person has to couple up with someone, otherwise they risk getting booted off the island. The winning couple receives $100,000.
ComplexCon returns to Las Vegas on October 25–26, 2025, with over 300 brands and live performances by Young Thug, YEAT & Friends, Peso Pluma, Central Cee, Ken Carson, and more. Get your tickets now.
