Howie Mandel Reacts to Camilla Araujo’s $2.5M-a-Month Earnings
Howie Mandel reacted with disbelief — and plenty of jokes — after the social media star revealed that she earns $2.5 million a month.
Howie Mandel reacted with disbelief and a barrage of jokes as social media celebrity Camilla Araujo said on her Clock It podcast that she currently earns about $2.5 million a month from online subscriptions.
“I’m doing amazing,” Araujo said in Episode 5.
“I’m at probably $2.5 million a month right now. My goal is $10m off one platform.” Mandel replied, “It’s amazing… you are doing amazing.”
The conversation moved quickly from Mr. Beast videos to footwear and personal quirks.
Mandel, a Skechers ambassador, produced neon slip-in sneakers on set and offered them to Araujo’s partner.
“You’re 10-and-a-half? I’m going to get you shoes right now,” he said.
Araujo answered, “I want an ad sponsorship from Skechers now,” before conceding, “Those are sick.”
Mandel revisited a long-standing aversion to handshakes.
“I don’t like touching,” he said. “Your hand is filthy… don’t make your petri dish touch my petri dish.” He said he carried surgical scrub soap in the 1990s and “killed all the good bacteria,” which a doctor later flagged.
“I know it’s not good, but I can’t [shake hands],” he said.
Araujo pushed back with humor.
“The natural respectable thing I’ve always learned is a good handshake,” she said, later adding, “If you get me some cool Skechers, I’ll wear them. Deal. I’ll do an honest review.”
Mandel shot back with a catchphrase, “No deal… I’ll get you Skechers and you’ll like them.”
Mandel displayed video of a pool workout that left Araujo in tears of laughter.
“I tie cables to my ankles and paddle in place for an hour,” he said.
Araujo called it “the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.” Mandel deadpanned, “You don’t become all this from doing nothing.”
The pair also touched on family and purpose.
“I can’t wait to have kids… the most healing and purposeful thing,” Araujo said.
Mandel agreed, “There’s nothing that can change you more than becoming a parent.”
Mandel surveyed his career, from HBO’s Young Comedians Special with Jerry Seinfeld to Saint Elsewhere with Denzel Washington, and declared, “I love social media more than TV… anybody with a point of view can make millions from their room.”
He invited Araujo to appear on his show using his tech venture.
“I’m involved in a hologram company—you can be live in real time, no latency,” he said. Araujo responded, “I want to do your podcast like that.”
“The biggest laugh I got was my exercise routine,” Mandel said as the episode closed.
