Former 16 and Pregnant star Whitney Purvis has been arrested for involuntary manslaughter.

As reported by TMZ, the 33-year-old was detained on Monday (July 7) in Floyd County, Georgia for allegedly distributing non-opioid sedative Tranq, a poisonous combination of fentanyl and Xylazine. The victim, John Mark Harris, died in February at his home from drug toxicity.

Harris’ mother, Lisa, told TMZ that she’s relieved Purvis was arrested. “Glad nobody else must go through this because of her actions," she told them. “I feel sorry for her — not because she got arrested, but because her life got to a point of dealing drugs."

Purvis' arrest comes one month after her eldest son, Weston Gosa Jr., died at 16 years old from health complications. Purvis shared Weston Jr. with her ex-boyfriend, Weston Gosa Sr., with whom she also shares a younger son, named River.

Purvis has openly mourned her son's passing on social media, along with claiming that she was shut out of his funeral. The reality television personality wrote in a Facebook status that she and Weston Sr. have a "horrible relationship" and alleged that he "does his best to make sure I suffer."

"The truth is he didn't want me there or my family and friends. He invited over a 100 people and I invited like 20 and he told me only my mom and uncles could come," Purvis wrote.

She added, "Ive made mistakes in life but I wasnt a horrible mother like they treat me."
