Ben Affleck Says Son Tried to Put Him On To 2Pac, Calls Him Rap's 'All-Time GOAT'
"I was like, 'Have I heard this? I had a whole life before you were born!'"
Ben Affleck considers 2Pac an "all-time GOAT," and now his son, Samuel, is a fan. During the 'GOAT Rapper Mt. Rushmore' segment of the new GOAT Talk episode, Affleck and his The Account 2 costar Jon Bernthal compared their favorite emcees.
Around the 8:40 minute mark of the video above, Affleck named Lil Wayne, Eazy E, Slick Rick and Kendrick Lamar, also tossing in Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.
When Bernthal named The Notorious B.I.G. and 2Pac, the "How Do U Want It" rapper piqued Affleck's interest.
"I mean, 2Pac may be the all-time GOAT," Affleck explained, before detailing that his 13-year-old son recently tried to play the actor-director a 2Pac classic.
"My son played me the song the other day, and he was like, 'Yo, you heard this?' And he played me 'Hit 'Em Up,'" Affleck began. "I was like, 'Have I heard this? I had a whole life I fucking lived before you [were born.]'"
Affleck also joked that Samuel, whom he shares with his first wife, Jennifer Garner, tries to put him on to other artists like Ye. "I'm like, 'Yes, I've heard music,'" Affleck told Bernthal. "What do you think I was doing before you were born?"
Other names that were dropped during GOAT Talk were Golden Age rap groups N.W.A and Gang Starr. Samuel should know that his dad is pretty up to date with current rap, since Affleck starred in a Dunkin' campaign with Ice Spice.
